Founder, President & Lead Clinician

Hiromi “Romi” Ortega Roque, AM, LCSW, PMH-C (she/her/ella) is the Founder, President, and Lead Clinician of ROAM Sex Therapy & Perinatal Mental Health Services. Romi is a licensed clinical social worker with advanced training in sex therapy and perinatal mental health who provides person-centered, trauma-informed, culturally responsive care for people navigating sexual wellbeing, pregnancy and postpartum experiences, trauma, and major life transitions.

Her clinical background includes perinatal social work at UChicago Medicine and frontline HIV, reentry, and public health social work at UCSF's Ward 86. Through ROAM, she brings together clinical care and community training to expand access to affirming support for people of all identities, relationship structures, and family-building journeys.

Why ROAM is a Nonprofit

ROAM operates as a nonprofit because we believe access to quality sex therapy and perinatal mental health care should not depend on income, insurance status, or geography. The nonprofit model allows us to center mission, reinvest in lower-fee care, community training, and partnerships, and expand access for people and communities facing barriers to care.

For people seeking care, this means person-centered support grounded in dignity, safety, and responsiveness. For partners and supporters, it means investing in a model that strengthens affirming, trauma-informed pathways to care beyond the therapy room.
